Recording Memories/ Milestones for the kids
If you are like me time passes so quickly. I remember rubbing Ambesol on the baby’s gums while he screamed bloody murder, and that SAME child just lost his first tooth! He turns 5 in two days, when I became old enough to be mom to a Five year old I don’t know!
Scapbook and Memory management is a big issue around here. I have three kids under 5, our days are busy and while I have the best intentions sometimes things get away from me. I have employed my own scrapbooking notes technique for almost 5 years now. I have yet to USE my notes, but I do have them!
Ever year around this time we get tons of calendars. Free ones from the real estate agent, insurance, collegaite society, you get the point. So when Kyle was a baby I took to taking one of them for notes. Of course with the first one you are scruplous, the day he muttered every word is recorded, the day his toes wiggled, it’s all recorded in excruciating detail. Small tiny handwriting filling each page. Well time moves on and little sister arrived when my first born was 15 months old and OH MY did mommy get lax. BUT I did stick to that free calendar. And if I did NOTHING else I tiried to write at least a sentence about what each of them was doing ad the end of the month before I flipped the calendar over. And of course that sentance usually gets you going with other thoughts. It’s hard to separate “family” from each kid’s stuff too. And I’m so hopelessly behind on their baby books. BUT I take solace in the fact that I Do have notes, do have things written down, and if I don’t get to it until I’m a batty old woman at least I can quote myself. And it’s 5 minutes a month, I can DO that!
